hi team, requirement is to change the method of polling Meraki Cloud by NPM.
current issue:
We are in secure environment where the ICMP is blocked on the proxy as a security best practice.
However when testing Meraki we realize discovery is through restful API but the polling is through ICMP.
The Meraki Organizations are discovered and also the devices associated but console was showing Meraki was down.
When we checked the issue the ICMP was blocked on the proxy and all the while the Meraki cloud was online.
The Solarwinds UI console shows the Meraki cloud(node) as down.
This has roadblocked further testing on the Meraki cloud since this is the only environment with the customer.
We had also opened support case for this issue: Case # 00328943 - 'Meraki is down on NPM 12.4'
There are few more customers lined up on the Meraki front for us whose onboarding will be impacted due to the ICMP method of polling.
Feature request : Can the method of polling be changed to SNMP or restful API ? whichever protocol can be developed at the earliest.
The documentation has to be updated to reflect that ICMP is the only method of polling Meraki cloud.
