Viewing Nodes Assigned to Specific Services Accounts From Service Account/Manage Windows Credentials Page

In the Admin section of Orion (Admin > Credentials > Manage Windows Credentials), you can "Manage" Windows Credentials. You can edit the Username and Password of credentials in that Window.

The window also has a field "Assigned to entities". The "Assigned to entiites" field will list a number count like 5 nodes or 55 nodes.

I would like the "Assigned to entities" column to be full of hyperlinks. If an entry says there are 5 nodes assigned a specific set of credentials, you should be able to click the #5 in that entry and a list naming the 5 nodes assigned those credentials should appear/generate.

One of the accounts has 55 nodes using it. I have no idea which 55 nodes are using that account (I manage thousands of nodes). Being able to click the #55 and having a by name list of the nodes appear show who is using that account would be quite useful.

I'm thinking of posting our SQL query. Did you happen to post the code you wrote somewhere on Thwack? It might work better than what we got.

What sprung the question is we have a service account that keeps locking out. There is a password problem/mismatch somewhere. We have at least 50 servers using that account. The lock out tool for Microsoft says our Orion Server (primary poller) is locking the service account out.

If we can figure out all users using that account we can test each one individually. If that works out, we can then look at VMAN and other stuff. I think the credentials store in multiple modules of SolarWinds depending on what you are doing/supporting.

Hopefully we can find the messed up account rather quickly if we can filter stuff out. The logs are deep and difficult to read/follow. Plus you have to go to many folders to find logs. SolarWinds doesn't have one giant log folder with logs of subfolders. You have to look all over the place and you keep finding more locations where some type of log is stored.

This would be nice to do natively vs. another report or query. I would even want this to extend to NCM profiles as well. In Manage Nodes, you should also be able to filter by profile or credential name as well for mass updating.

I haven't tried it with NCM. You might need to look in a different table. I listed queries above for how I found nodes with accounts. Kinstray might have a better solution though.
