NCM Content for NetApp filers

I would really like to see some content in NCM for NetApp filers. I have already added a template in content exchange that could be a good start. I would like to be able to backup and restore NetApps using SolarWinds. I would also like to be able to do some inventory reporting and also some compliance functions. The Storage environment is really growing. I feel there is value in using SolarWinds with NetApps, to cut down on the number of management tools that are used in an environment. We already use SolarWinds for everything else. It sure would be nice to use it more for the NetApp as well.

We attempted to use CatTools for backing up the configurations on our NetApp FAS 2240 controllers. With some troubleshooting, we were able to get the configuration, but there were lines that CatTools couldn't strip out for the comparison to past copies, resulting in a change notification with every check. Solarwinds support reported back that the CatTools device definition cannot be modified to strip out the additional lines, but that NCM would be able to fully support NetApp.

Does SolarWinds NCM actually back up NetApps now? I had to make modifications to the NetApp device template to "trick" the NetApps to be able to get the configs. I was wondering if someone has this working without doing this. I am currently using NCM 7.0.2 and will be going to NCM 7.2 soon. I'm not sure if anything has changed.
