I think it would be helpful to update monitoring team or other teams who is looking on views while monitoring Network resources, if there is a comment section next to that.
Ex: In Node/Interface Down view if we click on a Comment ICON next to that Node/Interface, we can able to give some comments and it should appear for others when they have clicked/placed a cursor on that.
The Comments may be whether the device is actually down or it's down due to some maintenance activity or the reason why it's down and what will be the resolution time and etc.. !
