Need help with an Event report please

I would like to configure a report that will catalog each time an interface or node goes down and also when it comes back up during a given period of time, then also list the total downtime over that same time period.

Can I do that with Report Writer, or would that be an Advanced SQL report? If so, can anyone help with the SQL?

Help is much appreciated.

It sounds like you could do that with a minor modification of one of the out of the box reports. There are several availability reports that automatically roll up to the month - just make a copy of one and then adjust the time period. There's one in particular that has "events" (up and down) with a graphic (green and red circle, respectively). That's what you're looking for maybe.

Give those a look before you hit the SQL. Correlating up/down events on a particular node/interface is more difficult than you probably realize. If you're interested, check out the SQL (Advanced > Show SQL) on one of the availability reports.

There is an advanced SQL report in the content exchange from jtimes that pulls the amount of time a node was down for the previous month. It doesn't list interfaces, just nodes, but it might be a good report to start with. You can find the report here:
