IBM SVC vDisk IO Group Information

Currently Storage Manager doesn't collect the IO group information for a vDisk (such as IO group 0, IO group 1).  This is somewhat important to know about a disk by end users who use Storage Manager to view their information about LUNs provided to them.

It would be great to be on the page:

Go to SAN Groups

     SVC

          Pick your SVC

               Go to Storage Tab

                    Go to VDisks Tab

As well as on the details page for each vDisk.

ALSO, on the vDisk table above it gives you the UIDs of each vDisk, but when you click on the hyperlink to drill into any of the vDisks, it doesn't show you the UID in that page, it would be nice if at least as much information in the table was visible within the individual vDisk info page.

If the smis supports io group, it would be sufficient to provide io group information in a report. This is just as important as UID and Size of the vdisk.

IO group in SVC/V7000 is almost like a seperate storage subsystem. A vdisk can be mapped to a host as scsi lun 1, from io group 0. Another vdisk can be mapped to the same host with the same scsi lun 1 from another io group. SVC/V7000 can have up to 4 io groups.

IO group information is important for Cisco UCS systems, the boot profiler needs to specify which io group the boot disk is assigned to. Being able to publish this information in a report from Storage Manager would be very helpful for system administrators.
