We recently expanded our services with Solarwinds to include NTA. Stacked with NPM, this would give us a great resource to monitor network traffic and give us an additional troubleshooting aid; however, we have come to quickly find that the reporting feature lacks much in this area. After researching the forums, I have come across posts as old as 2008 requesting that the reports feature give more flexibility and allow custom charts but Solarwinds responses seem to lack any interest in this area. This is a disappointment and I am hoping that since you are building NPM and NTA currently you would reconsider this option.
There are several competing NTa type programs out there and some offer more or less in the charts department. One thing that should b realized is that in larger companies, our biggest form of communication is through use of these reports. It's how we explain things to clients, how we seek approval from our superiors, and how we provide insights to our teams. If Solarwinds does not want to give custom chart features, what about having more built in report options to give us more control? Any expansion in this area would be appreciated.
