The line counts render the backup configs relatively useless to admins and engineers when they need to be applied to devices. A backup config without line counts would be more useful.
I believe that NCM has the built-in ability to make changes to a config and apply it to the device.
That said, I agree that either the line count should be a toggle-able option, or it should be presented in such a way that still allows for someone to copy a portion of the config via copy/paste without also grabbing the line count characters.
