WLC Thin AP CDP Neighbor detail

When looking at a Wireless Thin Access Point details, the page does not show us the CDP neighbor or the switch this AP is connected in. That information is crucial for troubleshooting VLAN problems and/or coverage.

While I agree, CDP is important for t-shotting APs, the WLC doesn't report back CDP info for APs. And since the info you are seeing is pulled from the WLC (not the AP), it's not available. 2 solutions for this that I can think of:

Static IP the AP, and add it as a node.
CDP on the switches.

There's not really any other way. I have WLC7510s, and the CDP info is not available on any of the displays.

NPM could gather the information received by the switches.

The AP itself, via CLI knows where it's connected, if you configured SSH access. (An SSH go-to icon on the NPM Thin Client detail page would be a great plus also, as the one present on the page refer to the controller, not the AP itself.)

Now... I understand that the WLC might not provide the information, but the beauty of a NMS like NPM is to correlate data

I have a few WLCs 5508 and 2504 and they provide the CDP info on the WLC itself Monitor > CDP > AP Neighbors. I think it requires a relatively newer WCL version, like 7.4 or 8.x or something. CDP neighbor info is available for all connected APs, including Thin APs. Of course it doesn't mean there is a MIB for it, but it's at least possible.
