My database instances are distributed in different environments or networks (multi-site, or local and cloud) . DPA monitors databases from the DPA server, which can be slow or put a significant load on the network in a distributed environment. I can deploy multiple DPA servers, but this gives me multiple interfaces to manage.
I'd like for DPA to have an option that allows me to collect database instance information from a nearby server (ie, on the same network) rather than the DPA server, but still put all the data into a single database with a single GUI --- lets call it a "remote collector".
Data passed back to the DPA server from a remote collector should be secure and compressed, to protect it and minimize bandwidth usage. A VPN should not be required.
