Presently the following DNS server WMI permissions article describes the requirements for IPAM (it must have DnsAdmins privileges). Please re-architect IPAM so it can function with a read-only privilege and NEVER modify DNS.
This would be similar to how your competitor allows this (See “https://www.infoblox.com/wp-content/uploads/infoblox-solution-note-read-only-access-ms-dns.pdf”).
I understand the current existing architecture allows that individual SolarWinds accounts can be setup to only perform read-only operations in DNS, but this is not good enough. We do not want to allow the service account to be a DNS administrator. SolarWinds IPAM service account should be entirely safe and NEVER modify DNS.
