Dear colleagues,
I think it will be nice to have a possibility to config more than 1 IP Address for a node.
I've discussed it here: Multiple IP Addresses for Border Devices.
Hello Alex,
SolarWinds has the ability to discover all IP addresses used by a node.
What I think would be a bit better, is the ability to check via ICMP status of those discovered IPs (and not only one of them, as it is currently).
However I also noticed that when a node is added via SNMP, Network Discovery could potentially add it again via ICMP (using different IP from the same device).
The best solution might be a combination of above points. A point of reference could be one IP address of a node, but all IP addresses from this node would be monitored via ICMP and Network Discovery would cross reference all the IP addresses from this node inventory.
That would be awesome! What do you think? Having multiple ICMP statuses for all IP addresses, we could create some nice alerts and statistics.
Either way, I am voting on your request and hopefully SolarWinds Engineers will find the best approach to deal with this
Kind regards,
Marcin Kazmierczak.
Bumping this feature request.
Yes, we need this. When monitoring a firewall that has an IP address assigned to each interface you either end up with multiple nodes for the same device or have to keep a special list of "don't monitor these".
Solarwinds, this feature has been being requested for 10 years at this point.... can we please get some movement on this?
Oldest one I've seen: Feature Request: Multiple IPs per Node
Any official answer on this request?
