We would like the ability to hover over the MAC address and show the MAC Vendor. Thanks.
update: implemented in IPAM 4.2
Great idea! I use coffer.com weekly to do this myself.
May I have a question here ... how actual should be the MAC to Vendor look-up database?
The daily updated version in text format is here: http://standards.ieee.org/develop/regauth/oui/oui.txt
As I look at coffer.com, there is pretty old version of Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) database: Database last updated: February 19, 2010

What problem do you need to solve here.
What is the difference between information about Vendor or OS in a case you would make IP as a manage node in IPAM vs. lookup into MAC vendor database on coffer.com?
thanks
For me this is something to keep me from using an external site to see what vendor this mac came from. This helps in identifying devices and all. This would be a nice to have time saver.

Mac vendor ID on UDT would be perfect.
Similar thread for UDT. So it is better the add these votes together.

Michal,
I tried to explain in here.
I've been using NeDi for device tracking and security evaluations and so forth because it does this. (It even displays the vendor's logo next to the device in the list...) I need a way to scan the network and look for devices made by, say, Linksys, for further investigation.
How hard can it be?
Please, check out our latest beta for this feature - DNS mismatch, automatic PTR records, IPv6 active polling and MAC address identification in IPAM 4.2 Beta 1
It would be great if you guys can try out our latest beta (link above) and let me know if you can see correct Icon and vendor name for your IP/MAC addresses. If not, we can still update our database. thanks!
I'm seeing a huge amount of Unknown vendors in IPAM and I don't understand why.
Where from does IPAM get the Mac Prefix?
In the current version of IPAM, v4.8, there's 19242 Mac Prefixes in the database.
However, the IEEE standards body has way more than 19242 OUI records.
When does the IPAM Mac Prefix table get updated? Is it during a product update or only if the PM or DEV remember to update it?
Is there any tool we can use to update the records manually?
There is not point in having this feature in IPAM if it doesn't work.
Bump; nearly five years later. I could use this.
