At this point it only seems like I can add Contacts/ Contact Groups to Alerts themselves. This creates a problem and completely negates the usage of Alert Groups, since those group alerts by Servers. That leaves you with the same contacts for every alert if they are going to be broken into Alert groups. This creates a very inefficient situation, because keeping up with alerts will probably prove to be a lot more time consuming than keeping up with server groups. Unfortunately, alert groups can not be assigned to a contact group. The notification group is set individually in each alert. What you could do is create individual alerts based on group. That way you can choose the instances to monitor to send to a specific group. Those alerts could then be grouped.
