Received flows per second per poller

There should be a chart somewhere within the tool that shows the number of incoming flows per second for each poller. It should give the same information that windows perfmon gives as described here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/120012#120040

This should be built into the NTA tool so that it's viewable from the web GUI (suggest the NTA settings page where the flows per second to the database is shown) instead of having to log into the server and use perfmon.

Good idea. Whilst you could do it via SAM, it should be a chart native to NTA.

Hi,

I know this is not chart, but if you want to know actual load on NTA poller this might be useful.

NTA service is calculating (per poller) averages from received flows and stores them into SQL Orion Database. There are following averages:

FlowsPerSecondForLast5Minutes
FlowsPerSecondForLast24Hours
FlowsPerSecondForLast3Days

With this you can create custom table resource that would be visible on Web UI. Here are the steps:

Add 'Custom Table Resource' to some view
In the 'Data Source Picker' select you want 'Advance Database Query (SQL, SWQL)'
Now switch query type to SQL and insert following query:

SELECT T1.EngineID, J1.ServerName, J1.IP, T1.StatisticsName AS [Statistics Name], T1.StatisticsValue AS [Value]

FROM NetFlowEnginesStatistics AS T1

INNER JOIN Engines AS J1 ON J1.EngineID = T1.EngineID

WHERE StatisticsName = 'FlowsPerSecondForLast5Minutes' OR StatisticsName = 'FlowsPerSecondForLast24Hours' OR StatisticsName = 'FlowsPerSecondForLast3Days'

I left all 3 options in WHERE clause just as an example.

After that just add columns and format them as you want.

I did not tested it on all NTA versions so I can't guarantee that it will work everywhere.

If you have multiple polling engines this table will get a little messy. Here's a way to alter the table so it's a little cleaner:
