As you may know, migrating your core SolarWinds server to a new one requires renaming the new server -- so it will have the same name that your old server did. Have you run into problems when you migrate your core SolarWinds server to a new one?
Perhaps you're running into DNS issues with the renamed server. Else, if your server is in an Active Directory domain, the server keeps dropping off the domain or maybe it fails to join properly in the first place. Bottom line, having to rename Windows servers, especially in a domain, is not much fun.
How much nicer would it be if you did not have to worry about renaming any of your SolarWinds servers -- regardless of their role. All you'd need to do is install the new server and then move the license from the old one to the new. If you like this idea and would like for the developers to work on this, I'd very much appreciate your vote.
