Need a way to delete discovered ephemeral DHCP scope after discovery and before it is added to the IPAM database.
| Scenario |
|---|
Temporary DHCP scope created by sysadmin on Windows DHCP server. In the interim IPAM discovers the temporary scope and it appears in the IPAM Settings dashboard as yellow-highlighted action items. The message in the dashboard is: Add discovered DHCP Scopes to IPAM IPAM has discovered 1 DHCP scope(s) that are not managed. These unmanaged scopes will not appear in Orion until they are added. » Add discovered scopes Without consulting SolarWinds IPAM the sysadmin then disables and/or deletes the DHCP scope on the Windows DHCP server. The discovered ephemeral DHCP scope remains an active warning action item in the IPAM dashboard even though it does not exist in actual reality. |
I opened a support call with SolarWinds IPAM 4.9 technical support. They suggested creating a feature request. The work-around is to ADD the discovered ephemeral DHCP scope, then use "DHCP & DNS Management" to delete the scope.
