Real Time Process Explorer

Add the Real-Time Process Explorer "button" to the node details page! I suggested this back in May with my old user acct (rsfh), but haven't seen any traction on it. As it is right now the only way you can utilize the RTPE resource is to add a dummy app to every windows box. Not the most efficient solution

This button does live on the node details page. It may be hidden if Top 10 lists are not used. See here.

Good find, but it would be much more convenient if it would be placed in a similar fashion to the application details page. That way, it could still be there if they didn't want the top 10 CPU showing up.

That's the problem tho, you can only see that resource if you have procs monitored on the server. My request is for the Real Time Process explorer to be available on every Windows node regardless of whether or not I have an app assigned to the node. Now that we're talking about it, the same functionality for Linux/Unix/AIX servers would be nice too

You can create your own custom html resource and add in the following:

This does not require you to have an application monitor associated with a server.

One more thing to tack onto this. If you can also make it to where users can view the processes but not add them to monitoring. If you can make it to where there is a rights assignment or an ability to show only certain columns in RTPE to specific users or groups that would be great.

As the RTPE functions today users who have the RTPE permission, but do not also have the SAM "Admin" user role can not start monitoring processes. The "Assigned Application" column is designed to let users know which processes are already being monitored by which application template. If a user clicks "Start Monitoring" they a new window appears stating the user has insufficient privileges to perform that action.
