Silent install for NPM & Additional Polling Engine software

It would be really nice if there was an option to do silent installs or some kind of scripting for both NPM and the Additional Polling Engine software. Recently I've run into some very large Orion environments(40+ polling engines) and the question always comes up. Granted there are tools out there that will handle package creation and pushes, but it'd be nice if there was a solution bundled with the software.

I'd like to see some sort of answer file ability here also. It wouldn't have to necessaryily be silent but having the basics pushed out using answer files from either a network install or a package push would be amazing.

It would also be nice to choose what products to push out to the Additional Poller as well. In some cases the Client's I have done work with only wanted to provide certain functionality out to certain pollers.

"only" 17 pollers here, but yes - having the ability to push updates from the primary poller to each of the additionals makes *a lot* of sense.

For those of us trying to maintain infrastructures with Chef or other automation tools (for whom server turn-over is part of regular maintenance), being able to install the products silently is a must-have. Automation artifacts are often the only documentation of why a server exists inside of the overall infrastructure.

The ability to template an 'answer' file would make this quite feasible and is well-supported Chef, at least. In fact, if itwould lower the barrier to implementation, I'd be happy to have a simpler installer that is decoupled the core product's installation from _dependency_ installations. In the case of NPM, things like installing SQLServer and enabling MSMQ are already reasonably straightforward to automate.
