Pop up message when you have not added a mandatory custom property

When adding custom properties to a newly imported node, if you miss one of the essential fields, a pop-up message should be generated to indicate an essential field has been missed and should be populated. Currently, the message indicating a mandatory field has been missed is not obvious enough and leads to users thinking the process has failed or crashed.

I really like this idea.  It would also be a benefit if the pop-up box had the option to allow the user to add the missing field from within the pop-up box itself.
