We use Db2 HADR extensively for databases residing on linux, and use vips for monitoring the databases in DPA. By using vips, DPA monitoring essentially "follows" the database to the server where it is active. This is transparent to us as DPA users. However it would be beneficial to DBAs to quickly know the server where each of the databases is active.
Would it be possible to set some internal parm, variable or register which can then be used within DPA, specifically as part of the "Display Name" which is used on the main database display panel, used for the log file name for the database, used in the update connection information panel, etc., and anywhere the database is referred to?
I'd like to be able to display the name, including actual server where the database is active, to our users. Without this information today, I use a temporary generic name, e.g. Serverxyz001_OR_002 in the "Display Name" to at least tell our users the two potential servers where the database may be active currently.
Thank you.
