Requests related to the Serial Number field

I have a couple of feature requests, both related to the Serial Number field. Please, read below:

There are times when Orion is unable to obtain the SerialNumber on a device. Still, many of us do track our devices using their respective serial numbers. So, I would like for the SerialNumber field to be added to the Edit Properties window. That way, we could add the missing serial number manually, if needed. By the way, if this request gets approved, I think the admins should be given a check box so they can mark the serial number field to be hard-coded or be allowed to be overwritten via the normal discovery/rediscovery processes.
It would also be great if the SerialNumber is one of the options available for under the ChooseColumns option. This would allow us to easily look at the serial numbers for our nodes without having to click on each node individually. I know I can pull up a report of all devices with their serial numbers. However, there are times when having this info handy from the Choose Columns window could come very handy.

I would very much like to see this as well. This is hindering me on a project and I'm surprised this wasn't there.

I used to fill this out in a Custom Property for every device before it was included. Lost most of the entries in one of my upgrades somewhere along the way.

This should be a standard field in the nodes table. A lot of node inventories are based on the serial number of a device. We now have build some custom pollers for the various vendors to retrieve this information. I don't understand that this still not available in NPN, for instance in the node details screen. So please vote for this feature !
