I recently came across an issue whereby one of the service managers I work with asked for a report, in excel, for Node Capacity Forecast information for a subset of devices. I copied the canned Node Forecast report, and edited it to filter based on a specific custom property we have in the environment. When I then ran the report, I found that:
- The option to 'Export to CSV' or 'Export to Excel' is missing:
- The report was showing ALL nodes, even the ones that should be filtered out by the account limitation.
I tried creating a specific view, only showing this report, which had a view limitation set, but this had no effect.
I raised a support call via the portal (#937132), as I was concerned I'd uncovered a bug, but the support rep (who was awesome, cheers Allain!) advised that after referring this to the Dev team he was advised that this is currently a limitation in the resource type (it's a custom Topx-based resource, apparently, and these do not support exports or limitations).
I feel it would be very useful to have all resources support the export to all formats, as often it's the data the end user wants, not the static PDF, as they need to amalgamate said data into their own report packs. Also, if I were trying to use these resource types in a MSP/multi tenanted environment, I would expect them to support limitations.
