Serv-U FTP

What operating system can the Serv-U FTP version 14.0.0.6 run on? Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit or Windows 2008 server? Thank you!

Gotta jump on here after having installed dozens of Serv-Us for my own use and for customers.

Whether you run on Windows or Linux should be determined by the level of integration you want with Active Directory (AD), NTFS, event logs and/or custom scripts.

If you are going to authenticate ANY of your users through AD, use Windows
If you are going to use "impersonation" (i.e., when a user signs on to Serv-U, they automatically pick up NTFS permissions), use Windows
If you want to record messages to event logs, use Windows
If you write your custom scripts (e.g., "on upload...") as batch files, Powershell, C# or VB apps, etc., use Windows

Note that the Serv-U Gateway can also run on Linux or Windows. In practice, I often see, recommend and in fact support several deployments running the core Serv-U MFT server on Windows (Server) 2008 and Serv-U Gateway on CentOS or another supported edition of Linux. (IM me if you want some details.)
