We recently purchased the EOC and NPM / APM for two sites. We have an HQ sites and a new unmanned data center. Although the major of the devices are located at the data center all the NOC / Engineers are at HQ. We have a dedicated managed Ethernet connection at 100MB between the sites. The connection can be provisioned up to a 1 GB if needed. Our data center has about 400 devices total which includes servers, firewalls, switches, WAF's, load balancers, etc. At HQ we have about 50 devices total. From what I have been reading it sound like placing the EOC closest to the EOC users (HQ) is the way to go. We can do it either way. Right now we have a single monitoring server in our old data center that we have been connecting to over a 100MB pipe. Can anyone with real world SW experience comment on what our design should be? We will be retiring an old data center and migrating over to the new one by the end of the year. The only other consideration would be a possible 2nd data center down the road. Any help is appreciated.
