I am trying to decide between purchasing FTP or MFT versions- we are a small company- any suggestions?
Talk to sales- I'm willing to bet they'll be able to show you the features of each.
you should look at the feature provided in each product to make a decision, we own mft and it's working well
Thanks- I have done that and watched videos and a webinar- this is clearly me just not understanding. We are using Serv-U a VERY old version and would like to upgrade- Because there is such a big difference in price I just want to be sure we really need mft. I like the fact that we can customize the interface with our logo etc. But the other feature seems to be ad hoc file sharing which I can't seem to understand what that is exactly- do you use ad hoc sharing?
Can anyone help with how they use ad hoc file sharing? I am uncertain which product we need- FTP or MFT?
ad hoc sharing is interresting for transferring big files without creating a user account for one time shot or some time shot it's also limited in time so the request will dissapear after a certain amount of time it's more secure
I was hoping that users would be able to do things themselves and I thought ad hoc sharing would address that but they say that an ‘admin’ still has to initiate the transfer is that correct?
