We're considering upgrading our Orion application from 10.2.2 to 10.6. I checked the upgrade path and while not very clear it appears that a direct upgrade is possible.
However, we are looking at 2 scenarios. The first is an inplace upgrade on the existing Windows 2003 server (physical). The second scenario is to create a brand new Virtual Machine with Windows 2008R2 and install ver10.6 on it and point the Orion app to the existing SQL2008 instance.
Has anyone attempted either scenario and can give me any advice?
