Filter Modern Dashboard to a single site

I have a dashboard I created some time back that includes a link to each site in the organization. When I click on a site link, it opens a new window with a dashboard specific to that site. Things like 'All Active Alerts' and 'Devices Not Up' are filtered to that site. Now I'm trying to recreate that filter in a stand alone dashboard and not sure how to make it work.

When a site link is used in the original dashboard, the new window includes this filter in the URL: orion.contoso.com/.../edit

Is this URL filter impacting the widgets in the dashboard? I've copied the SWQL code from the working dashboard to the new, stand-alone dashboard but the site filter is not being applied.

Hope this makes sense. Any thoughts are appreciated.

to reference custom properties as global filters when using SWQL, you need to make sure you are joining the custom properties tables in your queries.

Here is a basic example I have in one of my KPI widgets. The last line is the JOIN on the node custom properties table.

SELECT 
ROUND(AVG(rt.Availability),3) as [Availability]
FROM Orion.ResponseTime rt
JOIN Orion.NodesCustomProperties cp ON cp.NodeID = rt.NodeID

Thanks Chad. As a non-programmer I'm having a hard time understanding why the same table in one dashboard is filtered to the specific site, while the exact same code in a new dashboard does not filter. It must have something to do with the filter statement in the URL, but my programming skills are not up to taking that and putting it in the actual code. Does that make sense?
