Read-Only Dashboard

I posted a question a few weeks back about creating a read-only role for access to node information. I was told that it is not currently possible to create such a role. Now I'm wondering if it is possible to create a read-only dashboard, and then lock users into that dashboard so they can't access other menus. Has anyone done this? This will be especially important for creating views for upper management levels where we don't want them making any changes.

Creating an account for a user that is Read Only shouldn't be a problem. Just don't add "admin", "manage node", "alert management" etc to the account.

Also, along with what Lofstrand said, I believe you can set a Home Page View and Default Summary View for a Dashboard as well as set menu bars so they can only access what you allow. These can be set when you create their account. Menu bars can be customized under All Settings-Customize Navigation &Look- Customize Menu Bars.

Thanks Lofstrand. I think my original request had been to give access to the actual All Nodes screen, which I was told couldn't be done. So I'll be playing more with dashboards.
