Is it possible to use SNMP set in the Solarwinds application?

Hi!

As you all know it's possible to add both SNMP RO and RW community when adding a new node.

To the question: Is it possible to set/change SNMP values to the nodes using the Solarwinds application.

If not why is there a RW community field in the application?

If you wan to change the SNMP strings using Solarwinds, you'd have to execute a script via Solarwinds NCM.

We have a few features that use SNMP write. For example, shut down interfaces, adjust energywise power level, engineers toolset etc.

I would say, if you don't know that you will use it - don't add write credentials. Add it when you know you need it.
