Hardware health monitoring is in an unknown state - Aruba 2930F

I've recently added 2 x Aruba 2930F switches that are linked via VSF. This provides management via a single IP. After adding to monitoring, I'm still seeing "Hardware health is in an unknown state". I've not seen this before when monitoring switches and we have quite a few of them in our environment. Hardware monitoring usually just works.

The switch is being polled successfully via SNMP V3 with no other errors. The SNMP user has full access to read the switch state. Yes, I can just disable hardware monitoring, but I don't want to do that.

I'm a little bit stuck as to how to continue troubleshooting this one. I've been searching through logs for some clues but not much is showing up. Anyone have any ideas where I should be looking for clues? What logs should I be looking at - there's so many of them!

A lot of the "cheaper" switches don't provide hardware health polling and the only recourse you have is to disable that via 'List Resources'. And HP are known for not providing HH on lots of their models - I know Aruba and HP are in bed with each other now but not sure how far that synergy goes.

A quick perusal of the Airheads and HPE forums, it does appear that the 2930f does not support 'environmental monitors'. So no fan or temperature type checks are possible.

Also, every single one of our 2930F's along with many other HP, HPE nodes at the cheaper end i.e. not directly competing with Cisco etc all have HH Disabled.

Hmmm, you may be correct. Further research seems to point to this conclusion.

This is the first Aruba switch we have in monitoring and based on some HPE 2920's that we monitor showing hardware health, I naturally assumed the 2930F would do the same. So be it, I guess!
