Planning Upgrade SW Observability Selfhosted 2024.1.1 to 2025.2

I have Solarwinds Observability Self-hosted on version 2024.1.1 with dedicated Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (RTM). I saw on my current version, the database structure is different such as on 2024.1.1 version there is Orion.Nodes table but on 2025.2.1 that table is not available.

My plan is take snapshot on Solarwinds Server and SQL Server before upgrading. I choose to do upgrade through All Setting > My Deployment > Updates. Is it ok if directly upgrade through solarwinds web console? or should i add some activity besides snapshot both server. Your advice is very important for me.

In SQL there is no table called Orion.Nodes, but in SWQL there is one.
In SQL there is a VIEW called Nodes that reflects the information in the SWQL table Orion.Nodes.

Suggest you do a normal SQL backup of the databases before upgrading. Snapshot of the application server can also be a good idea. Then run the upgrade from the webgui.

I second Thomas's answer as far as backups & snapshots go, but did want to add that we've now done this same upgrade for two of our clients and it went sweet as a nut.

Currently i upgrading my client solarwinds without stop the service. If i stop the service, web console is not working. but while upgrading on process all the services are stops.

When Configuration Wizard running, the installation failed "Database Configuration Failed: Error while executing script- Database and servers triggers on DDL statements CREATE, ALTER, DROP are not supported with memory optimized tables"

I would absolutely be opening a ticket with support, not waiting on a user forum to advise.

But, first things first. Try re-running the config wizard whilst you are opening the ticket [I suggest phoning through and advising systems down]. BUT make sure you are an admin user on the server and then right click 'run as administrator'.

Secondly, yes, the services have to stop to complete the install. Personally, I never do it via the GUI as I always find it hit and miss. I just globally disable HA [only applicable if you have HA], then run the config wizard direct from the downloaded ISO.

i'm going back to snapshot because of the error. and i tried to upgrade again using webgui MyDeployment -> Updates. it'is already an hour but nothing happen. figure shown

Should i cancel the process and download offline installer?
