Which Log Do I look at for to find the Error?

We have a PowerShell script setup that when we decommission a server or servers it will reach out and will unmanage the server that is going to be decommissioned. The person that put this together has left the company and of course the script has stopped fully functioning.

Does anyone know which Solarwinds log I could go through and find the error?

I thought maybe business layer but I am probably wrong. Heck if someone has a key for what Solarwinds logs do what that would be great.

Hi @martian_monster .

If it's a custom PowerShell outside of SolarWinds, then SolarWinds does not have any logs for it. It's up to that powershell script to create a log.

Try to run the script manually to see what happens. Or add a couple of logging lines in it to see how far it goes.

Ahhh ok that makes sense. Would there be a log Solarwinds when an account access Solarwinds and does something? We have an automation that goes in and unmanages nodes for patching. Is this logged somewhere in Solarwinds? Thanks!!

I just muted a node with a powershell script, logging in as "testuser1". From below example you can see that I first was failing (forgot the password and changed it) and then the script worked.

So, unsuccessful logins are logged in the audit log and the mute-operation itself. Successful logins through the API does not seem to be logged.
