How to Create Hourly Bandwidth Usage Reports in NPM?

Hi all,

I’m trying to set up a report in NPM that shows hour-by-hour bandwidth usage for a few key interfaces on our core switches. I’ve played around with custom reports, but I can't seem to get a clean hourly breakdown — it keeps aggregating by day or minute.

Ideally, I’d like a graph or table that shows bandwidth in/out per hour over the past 24–48 hours. Has anyone here built something like that or found a reliable way to do it?

Would appreciate any advice, report definitions, or even SQL examples if needed.

Should be doable without any custom SWQL.

Here is a report of just two example interfaces. Both graph and table.

If that looks ok to you, these are a couple of key settings:

Having the "from" value to the wanted timespan. 24h in my case

Set the time periods for sample intervall on the graph to "every hour":

And on the table, set the "sample intervall" to "hour":

On the columns for receive and transmit bps, choose "data aggregation" to "average":
