AppInsight for SQL - Agent working for clusters?

Greetings All.

I'm confused about something.  Working on setting up / modifying some monitoring for a SQL server, using AppInsight for SQL.  Looking at this document for requirements:

About a third of the way through this article I see this line:

"SQL servers in clusters do not support SolarWinds Platform agent monitoring."

The thing is this:  I have a SQL Always-On cluster with two servers using synchronous replication in primary site, and one server using asynchronous replication in secondary site.  All of the servers have the agent installed.  Monitoring for these servers seems to work fine.

Can anyone in the community shed some light on what is meant by "SQL servers in clusters do not support SolarWinds Platform agent monitoring."?  SolarWinds version: HCO Self-Hosted Advanced Enterprise Scale 2024.4.1.  Agent the same version.

In the concept of "MS SQL Always-on", both "Windows Failover Cluster" (WFC) and "Availability Groups" (AG) are included. 

So what you have is not a "cluster" but Availability Groups (even though AG rely on WFC underneath). 

In a WFC, SQL instance is not available at all on the secondary and on the primary it's available under another adress and name. With AG, SQL is available locally all the time, even though some databases that are not readable on secondary and will show up as "unavailable" on AppInsight for SQL, the instance is available.
