Database Maintenance - what does 'N/A' mean?

Good Day.

Reviewing Database Maintenance report Settings >> All Settings >> Database Details >> Database Maintenance Statistics, looking at the 5-day historical display I sometimes see an action recorded as 'N/A' in the daily column.  Usually sometime during the week the action records as complete with a very short execution time.  

I believe this generally means "the index in question has no fragmentation, therefore no defrag needed to run".  But... searching Google and Thwack I see a variety of explanations for this return status.

Can someone in the community detail what an 'N/A' means for an action under Database Maintenance?

Hi, I see "N/A" on some  "DefragmentIndex" operations. 

Defrag typically only happens on indexes that are more fragmented than a threshold and larger than another threshold. (don't know the numbers). When I look at a few of the indexes from SQL management studio,  that has N/A on them, they are not very fragmentet and small once. So I think this is the case - they are either to small or not fragmentet. Thus defragmentation is not needed.
