Bulk Remove Direct/Explicit Folder Permission options?

I know in the rich client, we have an option for "Remove Access Rights" when you "Delete User", but we like to hold on to accounts temporarily and just deactivate their account for a period of time instead. 

Is this the only way to easily/bulk remove a user's explicit permissions on our file server?

I have also found the "Directories with Direct Access" in the web client. My problem here is there is no way to drill down to a specific subfolder or search by specific user to start with. Even with a 10K record limit, it still doesn't get through to where I need it to be.
