In my organization the perception of monitoring telephony equipment is as follows:
A Kiwi server which collects syslog messeages from the equipment in the network, visualize it in some sort of a table with the following parameters: Date, time, Description (and that's it i think).
A mandatory requirement is to be able to play sound-alert (which can be customizable, the Kiwi today allows it).
The kiwi is a project that for my knowing is not longer in development and deprecated (in some extent).
Now, Recently i integrated in our organization the SolarWinds HCO Advanced which includes for this particular matter: VNQM & Log Analyzer.
I read a bit, and understood that VNQM can monitor the performence, quality and availability of the calls which is nice, and Log Analyzer too can even collect syslog messages.
Can i combine VNQM + LA + Alert Manager (With some black magic scripts) to active a sound-alert for pre-selected syslog messages?
Or is there a better successor for Kiwi.
