Interface ID used in an alert. It changes if the port changes state?

I recall helping our network support vender to setup an Alert in SolarWinds to send a " Wan is Down " alert. Looking at the trigger conditions, it looks for an Interface ID to equal a 3 digit number. In SW the number I see identified with the WAN ports on our fiber switches is the Interface ID. I can find that on the switch. However, for the Alert to trigger the ID has to be a higher number than the Interface ID. Does the state of an interface change the iD? That would make sense as a trigger, but I do not recall how we found what the numbers to use for each interface to indicate the state is down.

Any ideas?

To the best of my knowledge - Interface ID has nothing to do with the state change. Interface ID is a unique number that is created when you onboard the interface into SolarWinds.

Now say for example if you delete an interface called ABC from SolarWinds which has an interface id 100 and re-add the same interface ABC again through list resource, the new interface id will have a higher number like say interface id 10985 where as the older id was 100. Interface Id is probably incremental always as a said just a unique number that SolarWinds holds in the database when its onboarded, but as soon as you delete that the id will be lost and that id will not be reused. Here are the first few lines of the trigger. There is nothing after the list of interfaced IDs like under advanced options.

Trigger condition I want to alert on ? What is it that you are using there ? Is it "Interface" that you have set for I want to alert on ?

This alert is strange the Interface ID doesn't do anything except to narrowing down on the particular interface which can be done in earlier section as well - isn't there anything on this which is looking for anything else ?

Each of our school sites have a pair of fiber links to our data center. Each of the above pairs in the child conditions represents one school. We have 15 sites, so there are 15 pairs in the trigger condition. The goal is to alert when any one fiber link to any school goes down. In some way, it would appear that the interface ID would have to match one of the 3 digit numbers to be considered "down". What is throwing me is that the Interface IDs I see in SW and on the switches is lower by about 200 than the numbers shown in the trigger.

I actually got a notification from this alert recently, and I could not determine which of the conditions were met.
