Archiveconfig Question

Hello All,

I have configured Archiveconfig to backup weekly. I did a initial backup to ensure everything worked and I do see the SolarWindsLEMAlertDBArchive folder. However, I only see one. Shouldn't I see a new folder each week? When I backup the configuration settings, which is also configured weekly, I see a new file each week. Both files are being sent to the same share location. Not sure if I am missing something. Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert on the archiveconfig command, but:
After another backup occurs, does the size or timestamp of the file(s) change? The wording on the doc page for that seems to imply that the one file will grow (as opposed to multiple files being created).

archiveconfig

Schedule or run this backup to back up the normalized alert (default) database of your SEM appliance. Since it backs up everything on the database, this backup file grows as your database grows. The entire contents of the database on the SEM will be backed up the first time this is configured and run. Each subsequent backup performs an incremental backup to the network share. If you have a separate SEM appliance dedicated to this database, schedule or run this backup on the dedicated database appliance.

Thank you for the reply. I did read that as well I just didn't know if I should see a date change or not too. However, I am not seeing the size of the files change. I'll try again and see what happens.

I did check with someone internally, and they noted that the archiveconfig option does create multiple files. You may need to open a support ticket if they aren't being generated as expected.
