Create a custom resource

New to this world.

I'm trying to work out how to view/create custom resource.

All I find is how to add it to a dashboard view (Adding and Customizing Resources Product Training Video | SolarWinds).

Any suggestion on where I can read up on how to view/edit/create custom resource?

Tell me what you are trying to achieve, 'custom' means different things to different people. What problem are you solving?

Hi,

I'm trying to learn and understand how someone (a contractor that's no longer with us) created a 'custom resource'. I can see it in the resource list but don't understand how it got there. I can go into a dashboard view and click edit (on the customer resource), to see the code that the custom resource has.

I am going to assume this custom resource is one of the built-in types (since adding to what comes out of the box is both hard and not recommended.)

There are 2 types of dashboards, 'Classic' still has a lot of miles, and has 'custom' as a widget type. Add widgets to SolarWinds Platform views, or classic dashboards and they can be Custom Object, Custom Table, or Custom Charts
