Multiple Volumes shows as unknown with WMI.

Hi all,

I’m facing an issue with my SolarWinds platform (version 2024.4.1), where most nodes' C drive status appears as "unknown.". I noticed that all of the devices are localized to one APE. The issue was ok when I changed the Polling Engine to another one. But again, the problem appeared when changing the polling engine to the old one

Troubleshooting steps taken so far:

Rediscovered and polled the nodes
Removed and re-added them via List Resources
Verified WMI credentials (no errors found)
Tested WMI polling using the WMI checker (working without issues)

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I would appreciate your insights on identifying the root cause and resolving this.

I've seen this before with virtualized window servers. Deleting the volume from the Manage Nodes page and re-adding it through the List Resources worked for me in most cases.

Have you tried restarting the APE?

Hi @Seashore, I did the same. Just after the APE was up, all the volumes showed as usual. But eventually, the same issues appeared again

SolarWinds Suggestion was upgraded to the latest version 2025.1.1. After the upgrade to the newest version, the issue was ok
