is there any programatic way to add a custom property to interface?

i am using this URL 

f"{base_url}/Invoke/Orion.NPM.InterfacesCustomProperties/ModifyCustomProperty" to set custom property on a given interface on a particular node.

payload = {

"uri": interface_uri,

"PropertyName": property_name,

"propertyValue": property_value

}

i am pretty sure this is not the way to do it, but do any one know how this can be done?

i have 1000's of interfaces which this needs to be run on.
