Open Telemetry ingestion

I'm currently running the Solarwinds platform (aka Orion). I am about to start the discussion about upgrading to Observability Self-Hosted. I have some developers that also have grafana/premetheus setup that is ingesting telemetry from podman and telemetry from some custom applications (I think this is open telemetry data). Basically some metrics that Orion could not easily handle. I am trying to understand if I can ingest this data into Observability Self-hosted. I see the instructions on how to set this up on the SaaS product.

I cannot find anything on configuring open telemetry ingestion for Self-Hosted.

Running SaaS only is not an option, so I am trying to figure out if I need to purchase both Self-Hosted and SaaS. And do they integrate with each other?

OTEL is on the roadmap for the self-hosted side. No definite dates to share yet but it'll be a 2026 initiative. We have items carved out in 2025 for research and architecture planning for it.

Yes!
