Dashboard to monitor windows patches on my estate.

Hello all.

I'm fairly new to Solarwinds so excuse my potentially simple question. I've been asked if there is a way to create a Dashboard and or Report which shows the windows patching status of servers in our environment. Do I need to apply an application monitor to all my servers first? Could someone give me some pointers or point me towards documentation I can read over to achieve this?

If you have SCM you may be able to use SW inventory profiles in Server Configuration Monitor (SCM) to get the info you're looking for.

I would suggest SAM, which comes with asset management function like you're requesting. SAM asset management can be used by itself or bundled with SCM. To be honest I haven't built a report or dashboard based off of SCM but I've done more than my fair share with SAM.

For example, here's a nice SWQL script that used for a scheduled report and for a Dashboard view.
