Dell switch - select all volumes to monitor

Greetings All.

In my environment we have > 100 Dell switches. 

Historically we have not monitored any volumes on the switches.  Now we would like to start monitoring all volumes on every switch.

It's very tedious to select every switch >> List Resources >> and select all volumes.   The GUI does seem to not allow List Resources on multiple switches.

Textbook solution to this problem would be to use the discovery wizard to select all volumes for monitoring.  However... we have tried the discovery wizard and found it blows away other monitoring in place (I didn't do this myself - heard from other team members).

Can someone in the community highlight a script or other automation that we can use to select all volumes to monitor for multiple switches?

This isn't completely true, you can control lots of things on "network discovery" (discovery wizard). Run the discovery don't select automatic import when you run the discovery (say suppose you select ICMP enabled and along with that SNMP check) - choose 'manually setup monitoring after devices are discovered" option and once all devices are rediscovered in interfaces, port & other section deselect everything so that you don't import them and only in volume section select the volumes that you want to add and then import. 

You can try running it once and at the last stage during import if you aren't comfortable just cancel it. But then give it a shot once so that you see what really it does. 

Point 1 - Discover your network for the SolarWinds Platform with the Discovery Wizard

Point 2 - Post discovery based on what modules you have you would see something like this "Devices > Interfaces > Ports > Volumes > Applications > Configuration Profiles > Import Preview > Results > …." , leave the devices stuff as is because they would only have what you have mentioned in the discovery subnet or ip range or ip list etc which you do in Point 1, In remaining sections like interfaces deselect everything, same with ports deselect everything, when you reach Volumes select everything that you need, then continue with the wizard keep deselecting everything ahead, under import preview you should now see all device list and volume numbers then click on IMPORT to onboard all volumes.
