Notification for latest firmware for Devices or Thrid Party Application Updates

Hello Folks,

We have HCO Advanced. We would like to get an alert notifications for the below activities:

a) New Firmware is available (Which will be shown on Firewall Web Consoles)

b) Third party like Google Chrome or Mozilla or Filezilla etc who has upgrade to be notified.

Do any one had tried any such.. If so could you share.

SolarWinds used to have a product Patch Manager that covered your B scenario, I'm not sure if its still around or if its been retired as it was getting really long in the tooth and works essentially as an addon to WSUS. It was minimally integrated with the core Orion platform, so you wouldn't necessarily be alerted about the pending updates but you would set up schedules for it to check for and automatically deploy updates on a cadence.

For your A scenario I don't think SW offers any sort of firewall firmware tracking.  If your firewall vendor publishes the latest firmware versions to an API you might be able to get clever with some SAM script monitors to alert when a new release comes out, but thats outside of native SW functionality.
