How is the depreciation of WSUS going to affect Solarwinds Patch Manager?
I was wanting to ask this and I am curious too since PM uses WSUS.
Well, Mark, I talked to my rep and it seems that once wsus stops working, so will Patch Manager. I wonder if we’ll get compensated for the length of time it stops working. I bet not.
oof, so when WSUS goes bang so does SW Patch Manager, I can't believe that they would just retire it like that, there are solutions imo.
So, after some research, Microsoft is depreciating it but not sunsetting it. So, they will still be providing updates but they will not be putting any more resources into keeping the wsus role updated. Server 2025 will be the last server it will be available on. So, there is time to look into other means of patching your servers or desktops if you use it for that.
Patchman new Perp & Subscription licenses have been removed from the 2025 price book... speaks loudly about where this product is going.
