Hi,
Our SolarWinds Platform MDF Folder with a total space of 1.49 TB is almost full, well the space left is 11.7 MB. How do I free-up some space so that our SolarWinds DB instances do not go into Suspect Mode?
Thank you.
If it's exponentially growing, I'd suspect perhaps something could be wrong with the Database maintenance task, which runs every day to purge old data and merge historical data.
In the SolarWinds Web Console, if you go to - Settings > All Settings > Database Details > Database Maintenance - this will show you the last database maintenance and any errors that occurred. This could be down to a table that is failing to have it's old data removed.
Another thing to check is your global retention settings (Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings). Are any set especially high?
The above will be the main cause of MDF growth.
Probably worth looking through the following documentation too for SQL Server best practices when used for the SolarWinds Platform - documentation.solarwinds.com/.../core-sql-server-configuration-best-practices-sw1430.htm
