how to trigger alert high cpu and memory for Cisco and Palo alto to mail

Here's the approach I take:

1. ensure the devices are accurately reporting their status for memory and CPU.
2. then determine the threshold at which I (or various teams) want to be alerted.
3. then, if different to default [which are typically warn at 80% and trigger at 90%] set the new level in 'Node Thresholds' under the nodes properties:

4. next, I'd look to see if there is an 'Out-the-box' alert for memory (and CPU) and then duplicate and edit that to suit our needs and environment. 
    - I'd pay specific attention to the trigger condition to ensure it meets needs - for example, our memory alert condition looks like this:
   
   
   
   
5. Finally, you need to configure a 'Trigger Action' to send an eMail when the conditions are met.

***** the alternative approach would be to create an alert where the trigger condition details the level at which the alert triggers. For eg we have found Fortinet firewalls tend to be flaky when over 90% so need to be alerted earlier
